We are a strictly non smoking B&B and we do not tolerate smoking anywhere in the house. But even better than the smoke detectors are our noses, which detect smoke even when, the toilet light is left on to keep the extractor fan working in the hope that the smoke will not be detected, and even when the window is opened and the room fan placed strategically to blow the smoke out – this we find causes the curtains to particularly smell of smoke. We have many people book here particularly because we have a no smoking policy and because people have illicitly smoked in bedrooms, we have purchased an air purifying system which we find it necessary to use where people have smoked in rooms. We feel strongly that we stated our smoking policy quite clearly and because of the facts stated above, we reserve the right to request guests to leave at any time day or night, should we determine that they have, or are smoking in the house and charge an additional 50% of the cost of the room to compensate for the additional work in preparing the room for the next guest. |
